Next Meeting

Tyneside LUG News - Sat, 06/03/2010 - 15:45
Our next meeting will be in the The Discovery Museum on Blandford Square, Newcastle upon Tyne. It will begin at 12:00 (noon), to end two or three hours later, on Saturday 3rd of April, 2010 which follows our regular pattern of the first Saturday each month. You can find us either in the classroom on the ground floor, or the training suite on the first floor. We don't usually find out until we get there. We'll normally update this site as soon as we know, so if you have mobile internet you can find out here. Otherwise, ask a member of staff when you arrive!

There will be a talk for the GLLUG by Richard Jones on libguestfs[1] on Thursday 18th March at 1930. It will be held at the Cavendish campus of the University of Westminster, in the Large Lecture Theatre. I will try and get a more accurate description of the lecture theatre's location and post it to the mailing list and website. If people could arrive at 1900 to make sure we are ready to begin at 1930. After the talk I suggest we go to a decent local pub for a social.

Please email general.mooney-at-googlemail.com if you are attending in order to get an idea of the expected number of people.

Ciaran Mooney

Technical Meeting: Saturday 24th April

KentLUG News - Sun, 24/01/2010 - 21:46
date:  Sat, 2010-04-24 09:00

Maplesden Noakes School
Buckland Hill,
Buckland Road
Maidstone
Kent
ME16 0TJ

Our meeting will be in classroom E4 in E block from 9am to 1pm. If you have not attended before and don't want to get lost, please email asking for mobile numbers to be exchanged.

This is often a well attended location so I hope lots of people can attend again so we can make the most of this nice convenient location. Unfortunately the only problem with it is there are no tea and coffee facilities we can use so it will be a 'bring your own refreshments' event.

Technical Meeting: Saturday 27th February

KentLUG News - Sun, 24/01/2010 - 21:40
date:  Sat, 2010-02-27 09:00

** STOP PRESS **

We've just been informed that there are power problems at the school that are being fixed tomorrow.

We're going to go meet up anyway and try to deliver talks via laptops and have the usual token talks and then reconvene at the Pippen pub for general socialising, drinks and nibbles. Please be aware though there will be no wireless or projector and so things might have to be a little ad-hoc

Annual new year's eating

Tyneside LUG News - Mon, 07/12/2009 - 23:17
Instead of our regular January meeting, we're having a social meal at Frankie & Benny's Restaurant. This will be the third time we've done this. The last two were great successes. Franky & Benny's New York Italian restaurant - the one on the corner of Northumberland Road and John Dobson Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. I'll need to know numbers as soon as possible. We've already got about six people who've said they'll come. Please, give us a shout on the general mailing list if you want to come, and I'll get us a table booked. I'm working on a provisional date of Saturday the 9th of January, and a time of six o'clock in the evening. As before, this isn't a late night thing.
